Pale gold.

The nose is exceptional with intense aromas of ripe nectarines and white peach and some shadows of grapefruit behind. It’s complex and attractive with the fruit dominating and the wood and fermentation characters sitting well into the background.

Interestingly, the nose improves on opening due to the Stelvin closure and it certainly wouldn’t hurt to decant.

The palate is quite soft and shows some good bottle development. The grapefruit spectrum flavours – a classic character in top class WA Chardonnay – are quite prominent and sit nicely with the subdued lees and wood components.
