Current Vintage: 2011

There’s classic South-West chardonnay characters on the nose: grapefruit tartness with a hint of ripe nectarine. The oak is sitting nicely behind the fruit aromas, suggesting a delicate style.

The palate confirms the bouquet, showing a structure that is quite lean and tight and showing plenty of youth. The grapefruit/stonefruit mix dominates the early flavours, but as the palate proceeds there is a gentle intrusion of oak, setting up a slightly grippy tannin finish with some nice charred oak flavours.

This wine is already showing some nice integration of fruit and oak, but it needs a few years to show its best.
