This style is Peel Estate's flagship - a white wine for red wine drinkers. The wooded Chenin Blanc ages very well, developing complex honeyed characters after several years which make it an intriguing wine with food. Many Peel wooded Chenin Blanc wines are still improving at 15 years of age.

There’s real complexity in the bouquet here with lots of bottle-age toastiness over ripe fruit and very good oak. The palate is rich and complex. There is good development, with lashings of hot buttered toast and a ghostly whiff of aged Riesling-like kerosene complexity. It’s very big in the mouth, but generous with loads of Chenin fruitiness and enough acidity to keep it in check.
